Ozev Grant Changes

The generous Electric Vehicle Home Charge Scheme (EVHS) offered by the Office of Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) will be phased off by the end of March 2022. This implies that electric car owners who live in their own homes will no longer be eligible to apply for a grant covering 75% of the expenses (up to £350) of installing an electric vehicle charging outlet at their residence.

From 1 April 2022, EV owners who own their own home will be required to pay the whole cost of establishing a charging point at their residence. Our electricians install electric car chargers in homes across Birmingham, Castle Bromwich, Solihull and Sutton Coldfield. They've gone through why you need to act now to make the most of this grant, who can benefit & how to claim. Read more below.

Act Now to Benefit from the Electric Vehicle Home Charge Scheme

With the announcement that EVHS will change its direction beginning in Q2 of next year, there has never been a better time to take advantage of having a charging point installed at home if you currently own an electric car or have one on order.

Installing a charging point on your home means:

Your vehicle will charge more efficiently

 Your vehicle will charge quicker.

You will benefit from the additional safety of having a dedicated charging point.

You can get the benefits of having a smart charging point installed.

Who can benefit from the Electric Vehicle Home Charge Scheme?

There are just a few restrictions on who can benefit from a grant of up to £350 to cover 75% of the cost of installing an electric vehicle charging point at your home until the EVHS changes direction in April:

You must possess or be in the process of purchasing an electric vehicle.

You must have off-street parking on your property.

How do I make a claim?

This is a simple one. Leave it to Camlec's electricians. Our team of NICEIC-accredited electrical contractors will make installing your charging port at home as simple as possible. Following an inspection to check the full information required to install your electric car charging point, our electricians will take some details that will allow us to draw down the money straight from OZEV, resulting in the only bill you will receive being the outstanding amount.
